What’s it like to tear apart and reconstruct one of California’s oldest and most prominent structures? We have exclusive access to the Cayucos, California pier restoration project through Associated Pacific Constructors, Inc.
This isn’t your average remodel. Some of the pilings from this pier are over 100 years old. When whaling vessels and fur trading ships were prowling the central coast of California, the Cayucos pier was holding strong.
Currently, after a boost from both private and government funding, the Cayucos pier is getting a much needed structural makeover courtesy of Associated Pacific Constructors, Inc. of Morro Bay, California.
Next week on Modern Seafarers on the Central Coast, we will be speaking with site manager Cameron Simms and other craftsmen about the process of restoring some of San Luis Obispo county’s most iconic structures.
